How much is a broken rib worth?
Insurance companies like to think a broken rib isn’t a serious injury and will offer $2,000-$4,000 for one broken rib but we won’t settle for that. A broken rib is a serious injury!
To get the maximum settlement value for your broken rib, we create a 3-D color video from the 2-D black and white CT scan taken in the hospital. We show it to the insurance company and they usually pay us what we want but if not, we’ll show it to a jury at trial.
This is one of the videos we made and how we get real money to settle your case.
There are many types of rib fractures. Two common types are a displaced fracture or non-displaced fracture. In a displaced fracture, the bone breaks and moves so that the two ends are not lined up straight together.
The three images below show two displaced fractures in one rib. The images were taken from the 3-D color video of the 2-D black and white CT scan of the chest to make large color blowups for settlement purposes or to show the jury.
The image below shows the two displaced fractures as a vertical red line.
The image below shows the ends of the breaks on the left side of the rib are not lined up straight together which is why it is displaced.
The image below shows the ends of the breaks on the right side of the rib are not lined up straight together which is why it is displaced.
