A man who crashed into an SCPD RMP and injured a Suffolk County Police Officer was accused of driving drunk.
According to Long Island News 12, the District Attorney’s office said Dennis Knapp, age 28 residing in Shirley, refused alcohol and chemical testing after the accident. He was charged with DWI and held on a $5,000 bond.
The Suffolk County Police Officer was assigned to a road closure for downed wires where the accident occurred and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident occurred on Montauk Highway and Old South Country Road in Brookhaven.
